A Bear Creek Lake Family Session
Some places hold a little piece of your heart, and Bear Creek Lake was one of those places for this family. Their grandparents’ home was where they spent so much of their childhood, making this visit more than just a family photo session—it was a chance to return to a place filled with memories and nostalgia.
It had been quite some time since they had all been back, which made being together there even more special. They were such a fun, connected group, and everyone fell into place so naturally. We captured the family together, the little moments between them, and plenty of genuine smiles and laughter.
And, of course, the best part came at the end when the kids got to let loose and have a little fun in the water. Those unexpected, completely unposed moments are some of my favorites to photograph because they tell the story of a family just being themselves

the little moments that stay with us
Some of my favorite photographs were the ones of the kids simply sitting by the lake, taking it all in, and skipping rocks across the water. There’s something so peaceful about those moments—and skipping rocks just happens to be a personal childhood favorite of mine, too.
Maybe that’s why these images feel a little extra special to me. It’s the simple things we remember most: a quiet view, a day at the lake, and time spent together. 🤍
And then... things got a little splashy
Once the formal portraits were done, the kids had a little wartime action of their own! What started as a little fun in the water quickly turned into some of the biggest laughs of the session.
These are the moments I love most—the ones that aren't planned, perfectly posed, or even remotely still. Just kids being kids and a family making memories together. 🤍
A place full of memories
There’s something so special about returning to a place that was once such a big part of your childhood and getting to experience it all over again with the next generation. I’m so grateful I got to document a little piece of this family’s return to Bear Creek Lake—the laughter, the memories, and all the little moments in between.
